Horse thread!

Hi!
This is the thread we're I tell you about my 38-39 year old horse! We used to have 4 horses, we sold one we found out she soondied of brain cancer afterwards. Then we sold the rest toy uncle. They are fine still. That soon left us with one horse. Her name is Rainy. Se looks great even tho she's super old! I don't know how much longer she may live, so I will be spending as much time as I can with her. I will tell you how she's going... till...till she passes.

Ya! She is! I really hope she stays longer... when we got her she was so skinny! I mean you could literally see her ribs, spine, and thigh bones!

I just finished grooming her and she looks awesome!

Step one of grooming:
use a normal horse brush

I used a normal horse brush and brushed the whole body.

Brush head to hoof.

Step 2 of grooming:
a more sspiked brush

use a more spiked brush now.

step 3 of grooming:
a even more spiked brush


use a brushbthst gets rid of the loose fur.

Step 4 of grooming :
brushing mane and tail

when you brush any pet that has long hair-like mane, you should always brush it bottom to top.
This may also take longer than expected. If the horse starts to get aggressive towards you then take a break. You want to avoid rushing the horse.

If you are grooming your horse for the first time. After every step, give it a treat once it's done! And maybe a bigger treat afterwards!

As I said in my original post, she look amazingly good noting that she's 38-39 years old

Rainy sounds like a lovely horse! And wow does she look good for her age! Did you ever have a chance to ride her?

She honestly looks even better than our 28yo lesson horse Ty, lol. It's always so fascinating to see how unique horses are. I adore older horses: I learned to ride all on 20+ yo horses and they make the best teachers ever. I hope you and Rainy have plenty more time together!
