Horticulture question

In this case I don't believe the host plant is winteer hardy; therefore, the graft will die along with the roots if frozen.

They are suppose to be.I planted them in the ground this time.

Do you know the complete botanical name of the plant that you have. All that I know and have worked with have been tropical perennials that are not winter hardy; however, it is a large family and there may very well be species that I have not worked with.

Colocasia mojito

Wow! That's a beautiful plant. A search indicates that it should be hardy to 5 - 10 degrees fahrenheit. My gut still tells me that extended exposure to these temps will kill such a plant. If you have it planted in an area that is somewhat protected from winter winds that should help. Sometimes plant sellers 'expand' the hardiness zones to help in the sales of their specimens.

Keep this post in mind and update us next year with your results. Planting directly in the ground was a very good move. Good luck in preserving such an attractive plant.
