Hi there. I'm not actually new to this site. I joined it not long after I first got some birds back in 2008 but then I left off posting when I got so busy with chickens that I didn't really have time. Chicken maths and the obsession quickly took me from 8 to about 68 plus lots of chicks and growers (young birds 5-18 weeks old) BUT I've just stopped breeding for various reasons so I'm now backdown to about 35. I've learned lots since I started keeping them and I'm happy to share advice and experience with others but I also am still learning all the time myself and I've found this site really helpful from time to time when I've had a problem. My favourite breeds are cuckoo marans and Green legged partridge fowl (zielononozka kuropatwiana), the national chicken of Poland. I used to breed a lot of cream legbars which US members will now be familiar with. I'd like to add that I've learned a LOT about cockerels (roosters) over the years which may help some people as all the advice I've found in books has turned out to be questionable!
