I have chickens roosting in several locations. Ambient temperature at dusk still in high 90's and no breeze. Most birds, especially the younger ones, shifted roosting sites. When I checked them all were still alert with necks outstretched and winds opened while panting. All. Dumping heat. Few had full crops with chicks being the exceptions.
