I swear I’m not going to ever sleep or leave the house again. It may be worse. I had to separate the 6 batted rock from the others. That sort of helped the bullying , but unsure what to do about coop situation so I may try them all together again tomorrow. Tonight the heat lamp is between the two brooders so they both have heat and places to get out of it. The problem is they are all either running from it or it’s off and they immediately pile. I can’t get their temp right and I HAVE to be able to sleep and take care of my kids soon. Please someone give me some insight. I never knew heating and cooling them would be this hard

Welcome to BYC!

Can you go take a few quick clear pictures of your set up so we can see what it looks like?
It will help us all to see what your are working with.

so this is temporary since I had to separate them. And yes we were in process of making a better brooder with tops and all. I hate using. Plastic because worry of fire hazard. I will post a picture of how it was before we separated them. The container was also zip tied to the table before too. So I just walked in. I had turned off the light about 10 minutes before because they Were trying to get away from it on other side of the box. The way they are shown here they were at least quiet and sleeping. I can not for the life of me figure this out. I heard if they are all over they are good but now that it is back on they are awake And moving again. I will get a thermometer for it tomorrow, but the baby monitor I use to watch shows 79-83 without the light on. I know inside the boxes it’s WELL warmer with it on. I have the air vents closed as well as they will and covered with a towel andour house is on 74 right now. We dyinf because I used to keep it 69-70 this time of year. And im not sleeping. I guess I’m going to have to make complete new arrangements with the bullying and now having to separate and get a second lamp.

If I gave you my phone number would you call me real quick?
You are over thinking this.

That is the exact reason why I used a heating pad . They are so much easier to use AND the chicks don’t complain about it!

But back to your problem and not my rambling, I would raise the heat lamp if you can. It looks awfully close to the brooders.
