Hot computer...

My laptop keeps overheating....

I've been trying to keep it lifted just the rear so it gets a little air circulation underneath.... but things keep shifting out again (like rolled up socks, LOL)... and I'm getting a little desperate here... as my pc gets so hot it's heating me up as well just for being near it and when it heats up it won't play movies and shows very long...
*waaaa* I'm getting fustrated!

They make a laptop cooler. It sits under the laptop and is powered by a USB connection. I got one for less than 10.00 on E-Bay. I am trying to remember what I learned about overheating. My old laptop was like that. I want to say it's something to do with the battery. I do know that overheating will shorten the laptops life expectancy.

I picked up a really nice laptop fan thing at Five Below for $5. It sits under the computer and really, really does help. My laptop tends to get hot too.

try blowing out the fan exhaust,prob just plugged with dust.

An external fan or cooler would probably help. Do check to see if it is one of the laptops that were recalled a few months back. I can't remember the brand but some were fire hazards.
