Hot Date for a Hen?

Just wondering if anyone has ever set up a hot date for there hens before.
We have a rooster-less flock and From time to time like to add a little diversity into the flock, and would love to utilize our own hens to cross breed.

Sort of like a stud service for chickens

Realistically it is a way to possibly introduce disease to your flock.

I think that it is possible, but may he hard to due because of possible disease and the birds disliking each other. If you choose to do it I would make sure the bird is not contaminated (couldn't find a word) and that you introduce slowly.

If you are allowed roosters, it would be better to look for one needing rehomeing in your area. Plenty of them out there. If you are not allowed them, consider what your plan will be for the inevitable males your girls will produce.

If you want to incubate, you can buy hatching eggs from a local.

I agree, you're better off getting a roo yourself or getting hatching eggs. It's safer and more practical

I'd get some chicks or eggs, a "datenight" that's a biosecurity nightmare

Thank you. We've had a couple rounds of roosters in the past, one in particular we loved and rehomed ( slick jagger, an Australorp) but we live just outside of the town center and have a 'cant disturb the neighbors peace' clause in our lease. Although some days the hens are just as loud! Anyone else get perturbed by their hens having a good squawk off?
Anyways we've opted for a round of fertile hatching eggs in the mail, we'll see how it goes, and hopefully we'll get a roo to keep for a short while, just long enough anyone ever mix a lavender Ameraucauna rooster with a maran?
