i received 3 chicks in May at 4 weeks old. I live in Denton, Texas and we had many 100+ days during the summer. My girls (Barnvelder, Orpington, and Easter Egger) are 6 mos old now and no eggs. Wondering if the excessive heat could slow their start of laying. I kep a fan on them and provided fresh water and frozen treats twice a day.

I wouldn’t think it would sometimes they slow down laying when it gets that hot. Some chickens just start laying later then others. Every chicken is unique.

Agree, I'm in Australia and the heat sometimes stops them laying for a few days when we have excessive heat, but it has no bearing on when they started as pullets, 6 months is a pretty normal timeframe for them to start. They'll do it when they're ready.
