My mom and I were chatting about what time of year is the best for hens to hatch chicks and if there's a certain time of year that they go broody and raise chicks or if it can be all year around?
I have two broody's now sitting on several eggs and I'm curious if the hot weather can affect the development of the chicks or even after they are hatched? It was really warm in the coop today :/ I bought a fan to put in there, hopefully that helps?

They usually go broody in the spring or in the summer but i have had a couple that went broody in the fall as well and even one that went broody in mid January, however it doesnt get very cold here. I am not sure, but my grandma always tells me to make sure its not too hot because it can affect the temperature and humidity of the eggs plus it is not too comfortable for the broody but i am not 100% sure.
