How much do you guys think it would cost to do hotwire on a 40 feet long fence on 2 sides?

It all depends what type of Hot-wire setup you want to install. It also depend on the type of fence you have. (wood, chain-link, plastic, ETC.)
You need an ENERGIZER , and there are different types, and power output.
If you are going to run just wire strands,, (not very expensive) how many are you considering??
You also need the appropriate insulators, depending on fence type, and those can add up to considerable$$$ depending on amount needed.

It is different when you have questions that you can ask a person,, right in the store, and choose the items that are suggested.

I have an Energizer, that I used when I needed to protect my Pigeon Loft inside my garage, from potential predators getting inside at night. I set it up only when I went on vacations. When I'm at home, I have no problem knowing garage is predator free when I lock up garage.
