Hi....I'm expecting my first geese in a few weeks. Starting small with a pair of Amer. Buff goslings. Do not have a barn, only my chicken coop, which the geese will not be able to use - don't want to mix them in their housing.
Any ideas, advice or pics of your creative, but effective goose housing????

Many Thanks!!!!!

I am thinking of making simple A-frame type but am interested in this post as well for the same reason except I already have my 2 goslings. good luck

When they were old enough to be outside I put them in a huge water trough at night, and put up some chicken wire around a tree for them during the day. Where you keep your geese once they are grown depends on the predators you have around your house. Currently during the day my 8 geese wander around the yard with no boundaries, I have a blue heeler that helps keep guard. At nighttime we put them in a fenced area that we built specifically for them. It is a regular wooden fence that you often see on farms. Then we put up A LOT of chicken wire on the fence. Fence & wire are at least 4.5 feet high. You do not need to put them in a house, and they don't really need a roof. Geese do excellent in all weather, but maybe plant some large bushes, so they can get in the shade, or out of the wind.
