Hi Y'all! I have a few minutes before hubby gets home and we head out to pick up my 4 new Toulouse geese...

I had 3 geese (2 Pilgrim & 1 special needs Toulouse) housed in with my Muscovy & while the Muscovy drake was the boss (Pilgrim Drake just turned a year!) I will be rearranging living quarters with the incoming Toulouse.

Do y'all think I should attempt to integrate the Muscovy with the new geese (The pair of Toulouse I got 2 months ago are in a pen separated from everyone else, & will be til they hatch their babies!)

I plan on putting these 4 new ladies in a fenced in Garden area until they have a chance to settle in. Then I will either house them w the Miscovy or decide to make that pen only for the Toulouse. There will be 6 of them eventually.

(The Pilgrims & special needs gal are moving into a pen of their own!)

Talk to y'all later!
God bless!

P.S. Hope this made some sort of sense!🤷🏼‍♀️

My geese ad Muscovy free range together on half acre fenced in but they do not sleep in the same house because my gander and my drake are mortal enemies. If they are all close to the same age and grow up together it may work but during breeding season it's a 3 ring circus around here.

My Muscovy drake and my original Buff gander also despise one another. Fights can go either way so they stay apart now. Currently I'm disgusted with all of them. All of the geese are in one large pasture with a single pair of Khaki Campbells. The Campbell drake thinks raping goslings are fun and all four ganders and three hens just stand there screaming and don't do anything. They'll murder a chicken in minutes, but rapey ducks get a free pass.

That's horrible! I'm sorry you're having to deal with that!😕

I'm having to rearrange pens to accommodate my growing number of birds... as of last night, there are 52! That's counting 2, (possibly 3 after I had to spend 15 minutes chasing down a Muscovy drake I HAD planned to keep...🤔) excess drakes. As soon as the first 2 Toulouse pair hatch their youngsters , the pen they're in will be cleaned and all of the drakes I'm keeping will be chucked in there, the brats!😡

I have decided NOT to house the Muscovy & Toulouse together. I am currently working on cleaning & expanding a pen that is inside my greenhouse (I use it as a barn) and adding a pen on the outside. There is only one pen with multiple species. In my Welsh Harlequin & Golden Cascade pen, I tossed the 4 token chickens!😊

The Muscovy, Toulouse, & Pilgrim have their own coop & yard.

Now to finish all the remodeling so I can move birds into their permanent homes...🙄 I'm 1/3 of the way done!
