I have always been told/thought that cedar is bad for poultry, and waterfowl. I am seeing some houses/coops that are made with cedar. Is that okay or would it be an issue? I found a good deal on a larger enclosure, but it is made with cedar wood and I would never want to harm my birds.

I doubt you will have any issues at all- some of my shelter fences are made from cedar slats and the geese do chew them if they can find an edge or corner, but it causes no problems at all. Cedar can be very irritating as dust or shavings but as wood the oils are not available in any appreciable quantity.
