We are getting ready to incubate chicken eggs for the first time. My 10 yr old daughter got an incubator for Christmas. It is a used Hovabator 1588. We plugged it in yesterday and 24 hrs later (no eggs in it yet) a cheap thermometer reads 100 degrees but the red light is erratic. Sometimes solid, sometimes blinks, sometimes off. Should we proceed with putting our eggs in or is something wrong? Is the light supposed to be off when the incubator is at the right temp?
Thanks
