Hi, I am wondering if my toggle numbers are on the wrong side. Is this possible? It says away from the numbers is off. But I'm not sure if that's the case. What does 3 blinks-pause-three blinks mean?

The numbers are opposite the word "ON". If I set it by the number side meaning on-like the instructions say, the light keeps blinking , 3 pause, 3 pause, and it doesn't stop.

If I set it opposite what the instructions say, it works the right way, the flashing light stops after it's set.

Mine does not have "on" anywhere on the switch, it has an "off" with the arrow pointing away from the numbers. Mine are rocker switches and not dip switches. Pressing the rocker to the side opposite the numbers turns that setting off. Factory settings are 1, 2, 3 off (rocker up on the number side) 4 on (rocker down on the number side) 5, 6, 7, 8 off.
Is this a new incubator? Why are you having to change the temperature?
A picture might be helpful.

Mine is about 18 months old. I'm thinking that maybe a different factory in China made the switch.
The numbers are on one side. The word ON is on the other side. On should be on the number side but it's not.
If I set it like the instructions say, the number side being ON, then it blinks 3 times-pause-3times-pause, and doesn't stop. If I set it opposite the instructions , and use the number side as "off", everything works normal.
I reset the temp because it was 99.5 for the first 10 days, then I think the eggs started putting out heat and the temp was 101 consistantly. So I was trying to lower it to at least 100. This happened with every hatch I put in there, and my chicks were born healthy, but a day early.

I wonder if I should just leave it alone.

I had a similar experience with mine only it moving to a cooler temperature.
My numbers are at the bottom of the little switches and it say"on" on the left top.
I called the manufacturer and had one heck of time. The technical help guy confused me more and got very impatient with me.
The directions that came with mine confused me more. But what I ended up doing was turning off (moving the switch down) the 4 and turning on the 5 (moving the switch up). It settled at a 1/2 degree up which as where I wanted it too.
I'm thinking you could pick a number lower than your factory setting.
But you have to be patient when you try a new setting it takes about 3 hours to stabilize.
I have to admit I have read the whole changing temperature manual/page that came with the bator and I am still not clear on the flashing light, etc.

I bought mine over a year ago, too.
I ran it for 2 days before placing the eggs in and it never returned to the 99.5-100 range it was running at before the eggs went in.
I gave it 24 hours and it just stopped at 98.8. So, that's when I tried changing the setting for the first time.
Last year I had 3 hatches in it and ran perfectly. All 3 hatches were mostly out on day 21.

Carolyn, thanks. Even with this blip, I still think this is a great bator. If it broke, I would replace it. It's well worth the money.
