Hi everyone, wondering if anyone has experience with this issue.

I have had room temp stable around 65 deg F. I am using an incutherm thermometer with extended probe situated between two eggs.
The bator has a fan installed and I have the auto egg turner maxed out with 42 eggs.

Set eggs on Wednesday, I'm on day 4.

Up until today the temp has held steady between 98 and 100 degrees or so!

Today it dipped down to 96 and wouldn't go above 98 for a few hours. I had to turn up the thermostat by 1/2 a rotation just to get it to get up to 100.

Has this happened to anyone else? What caused this? I am going to be monitoring for overheating now that I've turned the thermostat up so much.

Thank you

Sorry to say that Hovabator's are known for not holding a steady temp. Now that you turned it up, without warning the temp will shoot up to about 106 and you will have to turn it down again. In a day or 2 it will happen all over again. It's just the way they are. Save yourself a headache and buy a different brand.

Yep. Watched the temp, it got up to 102. Turned down a smidgen, we seem to be in a good healthy range now. But still, it's at a higher setting than my original setting. Really going to have to watch this thing like a hawk!!!
What's a better bator you think?

I bought the 1st one on E-Bay 62$ delivered. 32 eggs. Never an issue. I bought the 2nd on E-Bay 59$ delivered. 48 eggs. Just got it and have been running it 3 days to test it out. No Issues. I have eggs coming today. They both have the auto turner and all the bells and whistles.
