How big a snake can a chicken eat? (with example)

Finally got a shot of this reptilian repast as the meal was being consumed. The serpent du jour was a Western Earth Snake approx. 10 -12 inches in length (very big specimen of this species).

The roo partially decapitated it and our 4yo `buttless' (has never grown anything but stubby tail feathers) BSL hen scarfed it down.

She stretched out once in order get it into her crop (kinda like a human pushing their chair back from the table to allow for `settling'). Then she had some grasshoppers and grapes to round off her snacking...
