how big do orpingtons get?

I looked at the pics under the orpington breed... looks like they can be bantam or LARGE. Got mine at the feed store, and they were not listed as bantams. just wondering what they weigh full grown and how long does that take?

It sort of depends. Hatchery Orps tend to be much smaller than breeder quality or exhibition size/type Orpingtons.

There is a standard for the breed, but many hatchery Orps never reach the size in the standard.

My blue Orp rooster is about 13 lb and I have one Buff Orp hen from a breeder who is humongous, probably weighs 9 lb at a year old-she looks almost as large as the rooster himself.
