2 Campbells will lay approx 60eggs a month practically all year round.
But they're probably one of the best layers in the duck world.
If you have 5 calls you'll get bugger all eggs all year round!
Ah well you should easily have some to sell if you go for anconas, I hear they're pretty good layers.
I've only really got 2 laying birds at the moment and one of those is a chicken!
Everyone else is off lay, too young, the wrong sex or the wrong breed!
I still get about 15 eggs a week.
I've got 6 chucks - of those one is a Cockerell, 3 are pullets, and one can't get shells right!
And I have 7 ducks - again 1 drake (call), 1 mallard, 1 call and 2 mallard/call crosses(ducklings); so they rarely give me eggs and if they do they tend to want to sit on them!
I also have 2 Campbells but one is still a couple of months off lay yet.
So lots of birds but very few eggs at the minute.
Once the pullets and 2nd Campbell are laying though I'll have too many by far!
I don't think there is such a thing as too many in my house. My kids love eggs. At our current rate, I think 2-3 will do for us. But I'd like to have 5 or 6 in the future if we still have a good sized back yard for it.
