I know it is one here but tell me how big of a coop and run I need. Not sq feet but feet I want 26 chickens what do I need? You know ??feet X ?? feet.

You should do at least 10x12. This would hold 30 birds at 4 per sq ft-but holding 26 very comfortably and that is the most important thing. The more room they have the happier and healthier they would be, especially in the winter when they are "cooped" up in the really nasty weather. This is jmo though, and hey-have fun with your new flock!!

10' x 12' for the coop - but for your run go 30' x 10' to give them plenty of room outside to scratch around. For standard fowl the rule of thumb is 4 feet per bird inside the coop and at least 10' per bird for a run. Yes, the more room they have the happier!

Agree with both of the previous suggestions...

I'm just finishing a coop that is 8X6, originally I was planning on 12 laying hens....but the weather held up the build and it's taken 5 weeks, during that time I spent about 1 hour every evening on this site....long story short I'm going with only 8 birds due to what i've learned from folks on this board that have been keeping chickens for centuries. My attached run will be just shy of 200 sq ft giving each bird about 25 sq feet. IMO build as big as your restrictions will allow.

Agree with the others, but....Chickens Are Addictive--So, if you can, go bigger because you WILL get more chickens! Ooohh that breed is soooo pretty, this one lays blue eggs, gee a really dark brown egg would be nice, hmmmm a few silkies would be neat and they love to brood so I could hatch more chicks.........

*Don't ask how I know*
