how can I help my chick//(pics)

I have a 7 day old chick. One eye is fine but the other one is all goowy and she /he scratches it all day. This chick is one of a brood of 6 and all the others are fine. They are out in the run with their mom all day.

Is there anything I can do to help heal this goowy eye and dose anyone know why or what it is coursed by.

How can I clean it and with what.

Clean it with saline from the drug store, or make your own, see below, and put an antibiotic ophthalmic ointment in it about twice a day for a few days. Should be able to get the eye ointment from a feed store.
