How can I tell the difference between packing peanuts and chicks?

So my chickies are coming this Friday and I'm really excited. I ordered a red cochin, a buff orpington, and a barred plymouth rock from Ideal. I'm scared that the packing peanuts may be the same breed of one of the chicks I ordered. If that is the case, what do I do? Does the hatchery usually avoid such a problem? Have people had problems with this in the past?

Call and ask the hatchery to mark which ones are the extra males - I ordered from Ideal and asked them to do this, and they marked the heads of the extras with a red marker. Good luck!!

Randall Burkey marked the two BO with a blue marker on their heads.

I ordered 12 BA and they sent orange chicks as my packing that helped me out..good luck..

I got 7 reds from them and i ordered a feather legged assortment. No doubt there. LOL Good Luck and enjoy them.
