How can u tell the difference in male Silkies and female Silkies

I'm not a silkie fan.

I'm imagining if they crow, they are roos!

Not necessarily, and it depends on the individual silkie. I've had some chicks where I could tell right away (combs, wattles, early crowing, etc...), but others, I couldn't tell either way right up until they started laying eggs... Silkies are notorious for being hard to sex.

Photos, please. It is very hard to tell the gender of ANY chiken without photos or having heard that it laid an egg or crowed.

In general, you cannot tell the gender of silkies until they are many months old. The higher quality the more accurate that statement is. That said, a breeder often knows his/her line well enough to make some fairly accurate predictions earlier than someone else. And with hatchery quality birds one can often tell much earlier.

But, as I said in the first sentence, without a photo or an egg...

I have an 11 week old white silkie and his RED waddles and comb are ugly! He has a huge vault and a gorgeous beard which I love but-I wont be breeding him because of those qualities-I dont show birds-never will- but I also dont want to sell the eggs from him if thats what hes going to produce-He's sweet though-so hes a keeper for now unless someone wants to buy him cheaply:) hint hint...here he is at 2 days old

Oh I know you cant tell at a few days old-I just wanted to show my poor quality picture of the vault on its head at birth. I thought it was a defect at first! haha
