Hello I seen on videos how people have cracked open the egg in order to watch the embryo grow. And we have an incubator and are at day 7 and was wondering how we can watch it grow. And how can we add air thru a tube for it to have air. Can someone give me step by step directions from start to bottom as far as how to Crack it open to put it in a cup or whatever we need to put it in and place it inside the incubator in order to watch it grow??? Also how we can make sure it has air if we watch one grow like that. And if it's to risky the. I would like to know the thoughts on that as well. This our first time hatching eggs. My sister has a daycare and it's something g neat for the kids to see.

It doesn't work outside laboratory conditions. Don't let videos fool you. The only person I know who did it used sterile medical equipment, and pure oxygen, spent over 1000$ in lab equipment, and still hatched one out of 100.

It's hard enough keeping a cracked (but not leaking) egg alive in a clean incubator. No reason outside of actual research to subject an animal to almost certain death just to watch it for a few days.

Welcome to BYC! :frow

I would just talk your sister into getting an incubator and some eggs and let the kids learn about how chicks hatch from them that way.
