how can you tell the difference in barred rock hen and a cuckoo maran

I have a hen that is suppose to be a cuckoo maran , but the other day somebody told me she was a barred rock hen ... I know they look alot alike .. my hen has yellow legs and some black streaking down the front ....she lays dark to light brown colored eggs .

If she has yellow legs she's a rock. Marans have white legs.

If she has neat narrow regular distinct barring & yellow legs ,she is a Rock. Erratic, irregular, zigzag barring and white legs, she is a Marans. Anthing else ,she is probably a cross breed.
