I have ten 7 week bantams and one poor little 2 week old baby that was a late hatch from a neighbor who had no place to put it (all her others were over 3 months) so she gave it to me, hoping mine would be okay with it. They have all been together for 2 weeks now, but the older chicks are nearly all feathered and not liking it so darn warm. How chilly can I let it be and still have Teeny Peep be okay? She wants to tuck herself under other chicks, like a mama hen, which they sometimes put up with and sometimes don't. Or does anyone have any other suggestions for how to take care of her? I don't want to separate, of course, I think she would be miserable, plus I don't want her to go through being picked at when we would introduce them again, but I also hate to think she is freezing her little bippy off in there if we turn off the brooder lamp, but it sure makes the other birds happier/quieter/calmer. Thanks in advance for opinions and advice

You're probally going to have to seperate it in order to keep it warm. You start off at 95, decreasing it by 5 degrees each week... you get where I'm going... I would try to put them together in a play area during the day outside if its not too cold out there. I have 2 week old chicks, and some 6 week old chicks, I keep them in seperate brooders, but I put them together in a play yard during the day... Good Luck!
