How close can i place my compost to my coop or lateral line??

Hey all! I have a compost bin but we've outgrown it. I have a location approximately 10- 15 feet from coop but don't know if the decaying of vegetation could some how be harmful for the chickens to be near? On the other hand if I go too far another way, I'll be with in 20 feet of the lateral line drain field.

In regards to the drain field, what is the closest proximity I can safely construct my veggie garden?

It won't hurt your chickens. Sometimes my chickens live in my 3 stage compost bins scratching for bugs and worms. They are built within about 2 feet of one of my coops.

Just build the bin in the run. They will help speed the breakdown of the pile, eat anything of value and help need the bugs and larvae down.

That's awesome. I guess I was being overly concerned. This give me more freedom from placement.
