One of my hens (Sallie) is setting a clutch on the front porch. Nights are still below freezing but eggs not cold enough to freeze. Nest close to front of house so may not be quite cold enough to freeze eggs. How cold can eggs get and still hatch? I expect Sallie to go broodie in next few days. I do not want her wasting her time on bad eggs. We have had winter hatches in past but nest usually located on ground under mangers where temperature does not freeze.

If the eggs don't crack from freezing they can still hatch.

ETA: They'd probably hatch even if they cracked, if you'd want to bother with 'patching' them.
