How cold is to cold?

My chicks are about 7 weeks old. I have been bringing them in every night due to the cold (32° and below temps at night). I have a heat lamp in the coop but the temp still gets down in the mid 50°'s at night. Is that to cold to leave them out in the coop at night? My husband is getting tired of me bringing them in every night. He says they are to big and stinky now. Thanks for any advice on the matter.

You may want to put a small box that they can all fit into inside the coop. That way they can all huddle together for added warmth and the box will hold the heat in better. They should be fine at 7 weeks if they have their feathers.
