How cold is too cold for white leghorns??

I would like to hear from those who keep leghorns in colder climates without problems.

My set up is an enclosed non insulated chicken house without additional heat.

How cold do your leghorns get??

Well, they tolerate the cold alright; but you might get frostbite on combs and wattles on the roos. Other than that, our roos and hens never had any problem with extreme cold; sub zero. And they sleep in an uninsulated pole barn, which is closed up at night, but still really no heat except from each other. They are not very good layers in the wintertime; not a big deal for us.

I only have one Leghorn, Blossom and so far she has been doing fine, she still lays an egg everyday, she is the smallest hen I have but seems to be doing well. however she did get frostbite on her comb, poor little girl. I don't know how a bunch of little leghorns would do , but like i said she is my only one and always huddles with huge orpingtons and very fluffy cochins that might help her keep warm , my coop is also not insulated and it has been below 0 degrees her in Illinois. Suppose to have more of those cold ones coming back not looking forward to that.

WE don't have any leghorn hens currently but when we did have, as I remember they dropped off completely. They might not, I guess, if you do artificial light; We never did that because we believe in letting the hens have a rest in the wintertime, if they want one.

it got down to 19 here the other night i have 5 white leghorns and they still all give me an egg a day. but i am from florida so

I have 2 leghorns with 6 other mix. The real feel temp was between -3 and -11 in central Wisconsin the last few days. They did well and have been laying 1 egg a day while my other ones have slowed down on egg production already. My coop and enclosed run are not insulated. They both are covered with tarp.
