I was wondering what is a safe depth of water for goslings to play in. Can they swim when they are still babies, or should they be able to touch the bottom?

If you're going to sit right there (which you should if they're babies) their feet don't have to touch bottom. If you're going to leave them alone, I wouldn't put much water into a pool for them.

We just put our goslings outside today permanently. They range from 3 weeks to 6 weeks old and we have a medium range of water in the pool for them. We also have bricks inside the pool so they can climb out.

Remember that they don't have their oil glands working until 4 to 6 weeks old to make them waterproof.

Good luck!

The babies that are with their parents have free access to a large kiddy pool with brick steps. The babies without parents have litter pans to play in.
