How did my chick die? **Pictures**

So this chick is 1 wk old. Hatched from broody. There were 6 total. The other five chicks are totally fine. I found it dead in the coop this afternoon. The chick had had a small limp for last couple days but it was more than enough able to keep up with mom and it was eating and drinking.

Well the biggest thing is I need to know if

1. Was it one of my other chickens? If so,
2. Was it because it had a limp or do I just have a mean chicken who kills little ones.

I mean they have made it an entire week with the other chickens and there hasn’t been a problem. But at the same time if it were a predator, wouldn’t the predator have eaten it and taken it away?

There are many possibilities. Something could have tried to get it through the wire, some broodies will go after a chick that they think is weak or sick, and sometimes kill it. Other birds will do the same. The wound could have happened after the chick died, birds will sometimes cannibalize a bird that has died .
