How do fix a tiny egg fracture with wax?

I've heard that it is possible to fix a hair-line egg crack with wax before incubation. Do you drip hot wax on it or rub the candle over the crack?

Never tried that.I have had luck with cutting a tiny duct tape band aid putting it over the crack.
