How do I feed my blind chick?

If you google "how to take care of a blind chick," you'll find a lot of BYC threads. You might also want to look up "how to feed a chick with a syringe" in case you can't get it to eat. I don't have any personal experience with this, but the topic has been on here several times.

Good luck!

So you don't even know if it's eating?
Do you have chick feed available?
Who are the "others" ...more hatchmates.....with a broody?
He had his first 20 days of incubation with a broody, all of the chicks did. But she gave up on them when they pipped… it was strange but we put them in the ‘bator and hoped for the best. All of them hatched.

They have 3 hatch mates- all can see. The mother ended up sitting back where the eggs were after 3 hours, then left after 30 minutes. And repeated that process.

To be fair, the chicks are 5 days old. They all have chick feed to their avail. Today I taught the blind ones to drink by themselves, but i don’t think they know where the water is.

I think the reason you are getting such few response, is that the outlook is not good for a long life. While you can see the bulging eyes, something must be making them bulge. The wobbly walk at that stage is also another indicator that things are not quite right.

I would not expect a good outcome, good luck is all I really have to offer.
