how do i identify CRD in a kitchen necropsy?

I am getting ready to put down a pullet whom i suspect to have some sort of respiratory disease.

I was told that there is a way to tell in necropsy whether or not she really did have it. Is that true? How do i do it?

I appreciate any help you can give me.

"Postmortem Findings - thick mucus in nasal passages and throat; cheesy material in air sacs; thickened heart sac, transparent film covering liver."
