I have 6 chicks. 5 I bought locally, and the 6th one I hatched myself. Because they are 2 1/2 weeks difference, I had to keep them in different brooders. Now that they're all in the run, the 5 older ones (8 weeks old) chase the youngest one around. The youngest is scared of the bigger chicks, and when I let them out into the yard, the older 5 "flock together", while the youngest hangs around any human he/she can find--it's definately been impressed. Will this stop when the older ones reach their full size and the younger one catches up? Or will they never get along? What can I do? I'm afraid the older ones are keeping the younger from getting enough food--it just hides in the box most of the time.

The younger will probably be integrated when it catches up. It is normal for chicks raised together to hang together, even in larger flocks. It's a shame the younger chick did not have any others it's age but you play the hand you are dealt.

In the meantime, try providing separate places for food and water. The others may prevent the chick from getting enough. They can be territorial about food and water so separate food and water can sometimes help keep the conflict down.
