How do I know my adult gander will accept my female gosling?

I have a 3 year old gander. I brought home a female gosling so that he wouldn't be alone. Though she is quite attached to me, I've been persistent in getting her to socialize with my male. The past couple of weeks she has spent daylight hours in a pen next to his (just chain link fence between them). I thought things were going smooth. He was aggressive towards me if I put her in distress. That told me he was protective of her. Tonight, I started to question it. It's her first full night outside. I went to check on them and of course she was freaking out because she just wanted to come back into the house with me. In her distress, my gander acted like he was going after her, and kind of snapped at her. Is this a bad sign? Should I be worried about this type of aggression? My gosling is about 5 weeks now and has a lot of feathers in, but she's still quite smaller than him. I'm nervous to let them interact without the fence between them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There probably not ready yet. I had 2 girls and tried to introduce 6 new 8 week geese. they had stalls next to each other for almost 4 weeks and a 1 acre pasture during the day. My girls chased the young geese away from everything the could total bully. I herded them together for 4 weeks and everyday would get a little better finally last week I was able to put them all together in the barn once I saw the girls alowing them in there pond. Herding them can help teach them there a flock getting them to except it is all up to them and there time. now Im working on the last 4 now 8 weeks wish me luck and good luck to you.
