How do I know?

I have 5 big girls and 5 younguns bout 9 weeks. How do I know if the big ones are trying to hurt them or just being bossy? The big ones chase them and peck them sometimes pulling a little feather but not serious. I bought a pen and put the litle ones in it in the run, but they don't have much room to run. I want to let them out but they don't know how to get back in yet and they have not been in the big coop yet. I don't know what to do and don't want the babies hurt. I am sure this is not the only time I will have younguns so better learn now LOL.

Thank you, I let them out today and they figured out how to get into their own pen for the night and all are alive so we are good. I will take the other pen out in a few weeks when they are bigger
