how do i ship live chicks

You do need a bio box, yes, one with the filter in it. And technically, if you are shipping to another state, you need a certificate from a vet, or must be NPIP certified and sometimes, must have a permit from the state you're shipping to. And you have to make sure where to drop off live animals, etc. I'm sure someone will tell you more about it. I don't ship lives myself.

How old and how big are they? You will need to buy a box for them yes. Are they fully feathered or day olds? You have to think about the heat aspect of sending them too.

someone is sending them to me from indiana to alabama. they are about 3 weeks old. she is sending them overnight and i have to buy the box and pay for the shipping. i think she said there were 50 of them.

I've seen big ventilated boxes to send one or two roosters by USPS Express mail. I've never seen a big enough box to send 50 (or even 25) 3 week old chicks & I've worked at the PO for 19 years.

You may wanna reconsider. By the time you pay for shipping and a couple boxes, you`re gonna be looking at about a hundred dollars. Add to that the cost of the chicks and it seems cheaper to order from a hatchery or buy locally. Of course if these chicks are special in some way, it may be worth it. Randall Burkey Co in Texas has chick shipper boxes........Pop
