How Do I Tell Chicks Apart?

I'm going to get silkie chicks in April, three Whites, Three Partridges, and two buffs.
So I'm wondering, how can I tell them apart when they're little? I know about the rubber leg bands, but I'm afraid of it cutting off the circulation or them getting caught on something. Any ideas?

Blue kote. One dab on the head, back or legs and you have a blue spot that will last up to a month.
