How do I tell if she's egg bound?

I have a blue andalusian hen who has been laying for about a month - about 3-4 eggs/week. They are VERY thick shelled eggs (compared to grocery store free-range eggs.) She is about 9 months old. Purina layer diet, grit, crushed egg shells and oyster shell + scraps + whatever she eats in her run. She has now gone for 7-8 days w/o laying. She is acting normal - demanding to be let out in the am, bullying her coop mate (we have one other hen), running for any food from our hands, etc. I did some massage and can can feel an egg inside of her. I have seen her go into the box, but nothing produced. When do I worry and take action? I have read lots of the threads on egg binding, but she is not acting distressed, so I wasn't sure if i should just wait, or take preemptive measures. Thanks in advance!

I don't have any answers other than look for "egg bound" in the Search field here on BYC
I just lost my hen that was egg bound, did not catch it early enough.
good luck with yours
