I have some Rhode Island red and Black Star chicks that are 5 weeks old. I have been putting them outside in a coop under a well ventalited shaded area. For the most part they do okay in temps under 90. However, we live in Arizona and are starting to have wamer days in the 90"s. The problem is that they start panting and drooping their wings and I have to bring them back inside.
The question I have is how do I get them outside permantly without the fear of them getting heat exhaustion.... after all chickens belong outside not in the laundry room right.
Thank you for your advice
