We collected 15 eggs and put them in a Hova Bater. We are first time incubators!
They were set on the evening of Friday, March 20.

Daddy Dave is an Italian Heritage. Is that even a breed?
He mounted all except the Bantams. We collected all the eggs from these girls over a 6 day period.

So today we candled. Day 7. We made a homemade device that did the trick. How do these look to you? We think we may have 9/15 good to go. The below are photos of what we thought were good eggs.
What the hell am I going to do with 9 more chickens?
We left all eggs in the incubator though, and plan to candle again on Day 10 or 11.

Day 14 candling. We thought 9/15, but it looks like we have 13/15! Oh my goodness! Is that normal? I thought hatching percentage was typically 50-60% for new hatchers. Can we expect to lose more in the last 7 days?
