How do they dub chicks?

Ideal hatchery offers dubbing of their chicks. Was wondering how this is done since they dont really have combs or waddles yet.
 
They would cut off part of the BEAK to prevent picking. Picking is more common with large production or crowded flocks. Generally, dubbing is not needed for the home flock.
