How do TSC and other chicken stores sex their chicks?

Legbars are auto sexing so they can get blue eggs and do just as well at not getting a male as they would buying sex links.

TSC is kind of a gamble as to what they have (at least in my area). It’s kind of a get what you get situation, usually they have a couple different choices each time. Some breeds are more likely for them to have, ie rir or sexlinks, and the more common breeds they have more often, but a specific color and breed is hard to get from a feed store. Better to go to a hatchery or breeder if you want something that specific.
