How do u keep snakes out the run?

I have couple of chicken snakes going thro the run and go into house & get my hens eggs that she try's to brood but everytime a snake will get them is there any way i can keep them from entering the run there's no holes on the bottom i have chicken wire around the sides & hard wire on top along with wood would hard wire cloth keep them out? I cant use sulfur cause i have some that free range, any ideas would be great

1/2 inch hardware cloth everywhere. Any openings larger than that and a snake can squeeze through.
