How do y'all LG users add water with an egg turner in the way?

Just wondering how y'all Little Giant owners add water without having to remove the top and the egg turner / tray assembly to add water to the water wells? I'm about to use one for the first time hatching 120 quail eggs with the turner/quail rails.....and was wondering what your slickest method of adding water (and actually seeing the water level) without having to open the top, and remove the loaded egg tray assembly......thus losing all the precious heat and humidity periodically????

We just use a large syringe with a straw, put the straw through one of the vent holes on top, once the straw is down in the water well use the syringe to fill it..

This is something I was wondering as well when I first used the incubator/egg turner. This time I have just been estimating about where the trays are and pouring a little water at a time, when I start to see some on the counter coming from the bottom I stop. Its not the most scientific way but it seems to be working fine, Day 24 and all 26 ducklings are still moving inside the eggs!

OK. But, how can you tell when it's full, especially with the egg trays in the way full of eggs?

For me personally...I use one drop of green food coloring per quart of water.

I left the sections of the turner nearest the vent hole empty and use an eye dropper to add water any time the humidity reading gets below 35 and add it a little at a time until the reading comes up to where I want it. I keep a small creamer filled w/ water so it's at room temperature.

But seriously, (I'm a beginner, so....) suppose I take the top off "any time during the incubation period"..........How long have I got to get the top back on before I start putting the hatch in danger ............... say in a 68º climate controlled room? I know mamma chicken gets off her nest to "go do things", and the "Mother Nature" incubator comes to rest periodically.........same for most fowl.........so, ????

It hurts nothing to take the top off occasionally. (except while hatching)
The broody leaves the nest to poo, eat, get a drink, dust bathe, and then scream at the other hen that stole her nest for a bit.
