How do you add to the heading of a post? Like ref to pics added?

I THINK I have seen this done. I started a topic and added pictures later. Can I edit my topic heading? How if it's possible?

Down at the bottom of your post, click on Edit. On the page that comes up, there is a box with your heading in it labeled "Subject". Just make any changes you want and hit Submit.

I must be doing something wrong here. All I get is a dialog box. No subject

To change the subject, you have to edit the first post.
