How do you calibrate a thermometer without a probe?

Hi! I was wondering how to calibrate a digital thermometer without a probe. This thermometer is not waterproof.

It also has vent like sensors on the back and is battery powered.

You can’t accurately calibrate that one but what I did with a similar one was left it in my living room and if it read the same as what I had my thermostat set at then I considered it decent enough to trust. But I would definitely get one that can be calibrated. The one I calibrated that way worked for me and gave me a 75% hatch rate.

I have three digital ones.. I have all three in or with probe in incubator and compare temps.. mine are all within .2 of each other two read the same temp..


Learned the hard way never trust just one..
