How do you clean feathers for sale

No I haven't joined the Sumatra club but I will do I just search it?
Later I might try clean my birds feathers.
Thanks

Here's what my wife did after plucking three ducks:

Needed: 1 flour sack (2 towels sewn together)
Heavy string or shoe lace
Liquid Woolite
One lavender dryer sheet
One plastic storage bag

Procedure:
Tightly pack feathers in flour sack and tie securely with string or shoe lace. Machine wash on Delicate cycle with cold water and 2 capfulls of Woolite. Tumble dry on low heat until totally dry. To store, put entire flour bag with down into storage bag with one lavender dryer sheet and seal until use.

Besides buying small batches of feathers for special orders, I have purchased a few skins from birds that have passed from natural causes. Like everyone else, I use Dawn and warm water. I blow dry them or place them in the sun and they dry naturally. They turn out real nice and shiny. I do wash the trains by putting them in the tub and wash them with Dawn. I shake them dry and hang it on a nail in full sun. I then regularly shake the water out and wave the train around. I have not had any damage to the train using this method.

You can also use shampoo on the train feathers and blow dry them a handful at a time. Same thing shake out the excess and then shake every once in a while during blow drying, they'll look good as new. I freeze, steam, and clean/wash everything I sell.

I remember I bought a bunch of sword eyes from you and they smelled so good!

Once cleaned I store them with dryer sheets layered between them, they leave a nice fresh scent that is not overpowering and supposedly they are a bit of a moth repellant as well.
